Introduction
Babira Foundation is a community-focused non-profit organization committed to improving the lives and opportunities of young people and vulnerable members of communities in Vihiga County, Kenya.
The Foundation focuses on three interconnected areas: Youth empowerment and economic opportunities, Education and skills development, Community health and health awareness.
Babira Foundation recognizes that young people are an important part of the future of Vihiga County. However, many young people face challenges including limited access to employment opportunities, inadequate skills, financial constraints, and limited access to mentorship and career guidance.
At the same time, barriers to education and health information can affect the ability of individuals and families to improve their livelihoods and quality of life.
The Foundation therefore seeks to work with communities, schools, government institutions, development partners, private organizations, donors and other stakeholders to develop practical and sustainable programmes that respond to local needs.
As a developing organization, Babira Foundation aims to build its programmes through strong community participation, transparency, accountability and partnerships.
